I have been picking at a system that I have come to call Dodec for... twelve years now. (What an irony -- twelve years, and the game is called Dodec because it uses a d12...) I've never "released" it into the wild because I have never felt it was finished -- no playtesting, not much detail, etc.
I would like to get it finished and released. Somehow. Some way. I'll never be able to do it on my own, though. So I'm curious -- is there anyone who would like to take what exists of the game, help me finish construction, polish it and kick it out into the wild?
The basics:
* Intended to be "generic", it relies on Storyteller-style point buy (point pools for each trait category).
* Attributes and Skills.
* Attribute + Skill + 1d12 vs. Target Number resolution for (almost) all checks. (Any check which does not follow this formula still uses only 1d12.)
* Intended to be receptive to plugins a la GURPS or Fuzion to fine-tune the core into a specific game.
* Combat uses a one-roll technique to determine both success and damage, meaning a higher roll never results in lower damage than a lower roll against the same Defense.
I also have a basic freeform "magic" system already written up, but it's not very detailed, as well as elementary environmental damage (falling, fire, disease, poison) rules.
So there it is. Anybody interested?
